When does it make sense to increase the RAM of my computer?
There are several reasons why it might make sense to increase your computer’s random access memory (RAM). First of all, higher RAM can help your computer be faster and more responsive because it can store more data in RAM instead of writing it to the slower HDD or SSD. This can be especially beneficial when running many applications at the same time or performing computationally intensive tasks.
Is it sustainable to increase my computer’s RAM?
It is then sustainable to increase the working memory of your computer if your system does not have enough working memory to be able to continue to use it effectively. In such a case, instead of replacing it with a new computer, which in turn consumes resources and energy, it may make sense to increase the RAM to make the computer last longer.
Can I also buy on account at CompuRAM?
Yes. Generally, we offer this method of payment to all business consumers (private consumers currently excluded). Comprehensive information around this topic, can be found under Payment information.
Is a VAT-free intra-Community delivery to other EU countries possible?

Does the warranty of my computer system extinguish when I build in memory modules of CompuRAM into my system?
No. Of course the warranty claims against the manufacturer of your computer system does not extinguish, when you build in products of other providers, so called 3rd party products.
With proper use of interfaces respectively slots, designated for upgrades, your warranty claims are conserved.
Corresponding information of system manufacturers for example HP, Siemens, Sun or IBM can be found here.
Should you, aside your warranty, have special service or maintenance contracts with your system partner, please talk with him about your wish for a CompuRAM upgrade in advance.
Changes for systems under maintenance may mostly only be conducted by the system partner himself.
Can I send back memory modules when they don’t function in my system?
Yes.
In our product database, you only find upgrades that have been certificated by us for the designated system. We have an extraordinary support, which - in situations with little start-up difficulties - reacts quickly and professionally. From experience, in most cases we successfully find a solution together by phone or e-mail. In other cases, an exchange of the module normally leads to the desired result. Please read our blog entry to learn why we can guarantee 100% compatible memory modules for your system.
In the rare event that you cannot use our product due to a defect (dead on arrival), we will of course assume the return costs and take care of a free replacement delivery.
Which other possibilities regarding the return of products bought from CompuRAM do I have?
On the market, it is common to differ between private consumers and B2B (business consumers). For both of these consumer groups there are different T&C.
Consumers can generally use their legitimate right of revocation.
Enterprises/ freelancer/ self-employed are excluded from this because of various, but comprehensible reasons.
However, with regard to a cooperative collaboration we offer special return policies for B2B.
Read about this in detail in our Return guidelines (B2B) .
In what differs the manufacturer`s built in/ offered “original module” from the CompuRAM product?
Our modules generally originate from the fabrication process (OEM Samsung, Hynix, Micron, ...) like the products of the system manufacturers – the quality is equivalent. We always use the latest and quickest DRAM chips.
Why do I find at CompuRAM higher figures for the maximum possible RAM for my system than specified in the spec sheet/ manual of the manufacturer?
In our blog article Maximise the Maximum, we talk about why the limit for the maximum upgrade possibility of a system can often be adjusted upwards.
Why does CompuRAM indicate higher clock speeds than stated in the manufacturer`s manual/ datasheet?
We always use the latest and fastest DRAMs for our upgrades. This means, we tend to provide memory modules that allow higher maximum timings than necessary for your system, leading to even higher safety reserves as well.
Read our blog entry Matching clock speeds for your memory upgrade - why our upgrades can be operated with “slower” clock speeds.
Can I combine CompuRAM modules with the already built-in “original memory” in my system?
Yes. Our memory modules readily can be used together with the originally installed modules by the manufacturer. Memory modules of different capacity and manufacturers can be operated together and support the features of these modules. Our DIMM & SO-DIMM fulfil these requirements.
Should, because of certain rules, the configuration of a mixed operation not be possible, then we will indicate this separately.
Are the offered RAM modules new goods or used/refurbished modules?
The offered DIMM & SO-DIMM by us are exclusively new goods.
According to the manufacturer/ technique, in my system only “special modules are approved”, but I can’t find these on the CompuRAM website.
In so-called clearance lists for RAM components, there is typically only a small number of officially usable RAM modules.
These lists are created only once at the time of the product release and are very quickly out-of-date from a technical perspective. In general, these are limited to a few RAM manufacturers and list a very restricted amount of cleared memory products.
CompuRAM customers benefit from us updating our internal database with follow-up models that are released as improved replacement modules by the manufactures as well as equivalent products of other manufacturers, which can be additionally installed.
CompuRAM customers can rely on us when selecting suitable SO-DIMM & DIMM as they will always get memory modules with exactly fitting technical specs, highest quality and reliability for their systems from us.
Can I mix normal voltage RAM with LowVoltage – is this possible?
CompuRAM LowVoltage modules can be mixed with normal RAM without a problem.
Can one mix RAM modules with different voltages? What are the advantages of LowVoltage compared to normal RAM?
Read about this in our blog article What’s the use of LowVoltage modules? An analysis.
Why do I find no special timing values for the upgrades like for example CL and CAS and so on?
We don’t consider the relevant and often used details about secondary timing values as a sufficient quality characteristic for our upgrades.
Just by naming these single values like for example CL no conclusions about performance or even compatibility can be drawn. The selection and certification of suitable upgrades requires high costs, know-how and technical equipment and exceeds the simple scaling of secondary timing values.
Do I have to make settings in my operating system, BIOS or install special software for a CompuRAM upgrade?
No. Basically, it should be noted that no extra software, special BIOS modifications or manual settings are required for the installation of our RAM upgrades. Nevertheless, we recommend checking, at the latest in the context of a planned upgrade or conversion, whether a more up-to-date BIOS version than the one currently installed is available from the system manufacturer. Updates are offered in the support area of the system manufacturer’s websites and are usually declared as urgent/imperative from their point of view. In the meantime, the larger manufacturers also offer easy-to-use software tools for this purpose, which conveniently check for updates and can then install them, in some cases on request, if necessary. Improvements and error corrections in drivers, current operating system patches, the latest firmware and BIOS ensure more secure and stable operation.
How does a RAM upgrade affect my system’s hardware if it exceeds the capacity specified by the manufacturer?
Apart from the fact that more RAM is available to the operating system, there are no other influences on your hardware. The RAM upgrades we offer do not place any additional load on the system. There is no modification of the operating parameters outside the specifications given by the manufacturer of your hardware when our upgrades are installed. Our DIMM and SO-DIMM transparently reveal themselves to the system as what they are and are automatically integrated by the BIOS of your system after a positive check.
